Surprise!

What do you get when daddy brings home a surprise?  A blue face that's what.
There's a little bakery a few shops down from where we get our hair cut.  They have great little  homemade cupcakes.  (Strawberry Field being Lily Grace's favorite)  Every three weeks when Matt goes to get his hair cut, he brings home a cupcake for each of us.  Lily Grace squeals when you tell her it is "Surprise Day."  Well, yesterday Matt's appointment was a little later than usual, so the bakery had closed.  Being the good daddy he is,  he heads over to the local grocery as plan B.  He arrives home with these very BLUE cupcakes and let me just say, we ended up with more than just BLUE cupcakes. HA!  Too cute and funny!
You may also notice in the picture that Lily Grace is enjoying this cupcake at the table, sitting in her pink booster seat.  Yes, out of the clear BLUE yesterday, she asked to sit in her pink seat at the table for dinner, rather than in her high-chair.  She looked like such a big girl and did very well.  I will admit as her little hand reached across the table to hold mine for the blessing, I lost it.  Tears came easily while my eyes watched the "big girl" at the table.  My heart had a hard time accepting it.  "She's growing up," Matt turned to me and said.  She is indeed and we are cherishing every little moment of it.
Now, about these 2 year old phases which include the word No????????????????????? HA! HA!

Fun on the River

Today, we visited the Mud Island River Park with friends Claire, her big brother Jesse, Elliot and their moms.  The fun began with a monorail ride over to the island.  Once over, the kids followed the Mississippi (well a replica of the Mississippi River), splashed in the water and ended up wading in the Gulf of Mexico. We also watched a barge on the actual river and ended with lunch together.   The park was really nice and we all had fun, especially the kids!
