Party with the Animals

Today, Lily Grace attended her friend Noah's 2nd birthday party at Lichterman Nature Center.  It was also our first trip out to Lichterman. We had a great time!  

She and daddy got to feed fish and turtles, touch a turtle shell and even pet an Opossum!

Lily Grace also enjoyed looking at all the other live animals and especially the SNAKES! 

Plus + Sign

 Lily Grace is really into drawing and tracing these days.  In the evenings, she and Matt love to sit and draw.  She is quite proud of the "miley faces" that she can now draw on her own.  Daddy (with the engineer in him coming out) thought he would show Lily Grace  how to draw something new.  And off they began drawing the plus sign.  Now, having mastered that, she loves to draw it and announce that she has done so, especially to daddy.

Over this past weekend, we attended mass at a new church.  And let me just preface what I am about to tell by saying that Lily Grace attends mass each Sunday and as always, the communion gifts are led to the altar by an altar server carrying the crucifix.  

So where you may be asking does the plus sign fit in this story?  Well, as the gifts were being led up to the altar, Lily Grace is sitting in Matt's lap and we both notice her lean over to look down the isle.  Matt whispers to her, "What do you see?"  Her response in a not so quiet voice and a big smile, "the plus sign."  Matt and I almost lost it.  It took all we could do to keep from rolling out in the isle.  We both realized that she was looking at the crucifix.  It was such a cute and honest response.  I have to imagine that even God couldn't help but smile at that one.

Now and Then...15 Years

15 years ago

Happy Anniversary!  Today, Matt and I celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary.  It's hard to believe it has been so long.  Our lives have changed and been blessed in so many ways over the years and we couldn't be happier.

Note to Lily Grace:  When you look at these pictures later in life, I just want you to know that styles DO change and I wouldn't even choose this dress today.  (would probably bring the hair down a few notches too)  I certainly wouldn't expect you to wear it.  No emotional attachment my girl, you are off the hook.  

Back in the Swing of Things

After taking the summer off, Lily Grace returned to gymnastics today.  She was so excited and ready to go the moment she saw me take out her leotard.  

She has really made some big strides.   She was even able to get on the rings by herself, hold her body weight and swing with her feet off the matt.  

All the kids looked so cute and I think they were all happy to be back. 

Better to See You With

Gran's visiting this weekend.  She and Lily Grace are having a great time.  Lily Grace feels the need to wear her glasses, just like Gran.
