Backyard Fun!

Today, we joined friends at the Botanic Gardens to explore and enjoy the new children's section, "My Big Backyard."
The new area is awesome and has so much for the kids to do. They can climb, make mud pies, play instruments, climb tree houses, run through a rain storm, wade the creek and so much more. It's also quite adorable. We spent hours there and could have stayed all day.
What a wonderful way to spend a morning and we can't wait to go back.

St. George Island

We spent today on St. George's Island. We had a great time. The weather was perfect, water calm and clear and uncrowded.
We enjoyed watching the crabs, looking for shells and swimming. Lily Grace even got her feet in the sand this year. She actually stayed covered in sand and was all to happy to go out in the ocean for a "rinse off" with daddy. Gran came along and just when Lily Grace thought the day couldn't get any better, we ate lunch on the beach too. Oh! the little things....

Baa Baa Black Sheep

Gran's piano is a big hit with Lily Grace. We have been seranaded quite a bit. Take a listen to Baa Baa Black sheep set to music.

Gone Fishin...

After leaving Auburn, we traveled to Florida to visit Gran. Yesterday, Lily Grace went fishing for the first time. With her Mickey Mouse rod in hand, she was determined to catch a "Red Gooey Fish," just like Mickey catches for Mr. Pettibone. We still haven't convinced her that those only live in Mickey's pond. HA! While we didn't catch anything, we had so much fun watching her.

War Eagle!

We traveled to Auburn, Alabama last Saturday to watch cousin Jessica graduate from Auburn University. She graduated with a degree in Liberal Arts.
We had a great time getting together with family before the big event. Lily Grace was smothered with attention and all the better coming from Jessica.
Lily Grace learned a lot from that family dinner:
- Cats don't like to be cornered, taken for a walk on a pretend leash and constantly groped. They let you know this with a few good swats. We learned that Lily Grace is fearless and will go back for more if it involves Velvet the cat.
-Aunt Pam makes the best rolls.
-It is possible for great grandma Honey to learn to bump knuckles/high five.
-Uncle Jimmy gives good bear hugs, even with a beard.
-It is possible to teach boys about Fancy Nancy. Having Jessica's boyfriend, Blake call her "posh" is prideful proof.
-The more family the better. Having a 13 year old cousin of a cousin entertain you is beyond great. Thanks McKayla!
-Sometimes the best hairdressers are the unexpected ones. Thanks to cousin Zane for keeping Lily Grace hairbow cute. And for teaching her to text????? HA!
Thanks for a wonderful time and including us in your special day Jessica. We are so proud of you!
